CONSTRUCTION WRAPS ON QUEEN CARPET'S NEW LA MIRADA INDUSTRIAL FACILITY
Queen Carpet, a national manufacturer and distributor of commercial floorcoverings, will soon move into a new 278,700 square-foot build-to-suit warehouse facility located in La Mirada, CA, designed by Irvine's GAA Architects, and developed by Catellus Development of Anaheim. Gilbert Aja, president of GAA, reported today that construction of the sprawling tilt-up concrete building has concluded, and the facility is ready for occupancy. The front-loading warehouse building features 35 dock-high truck doors, and features 37-foot clear height throughout to allow for a 30-foot-high materials racking system. Also contained within the building is a 10,500 square-foot, two-story office improvement. The project was designed to allow for the future installation of an E.S.F.R. (early suppression fast response) fire protection system. Oltmans Construction of Whittier served as general contractor.
GAA has served as architect on a number of industrial developments for Catellus (known previously as Santa Fe Pacific Realty) over the past 11 years; the firm is currently responsible for several Catellus industrial projects located throughout Southern California. GAA's current client list also includes, among others, major developers Trammell Crow Company and Lewis Homes/Commercial.
