SECOND CATELLUS BUILD-TO-SUIT COMPLETED BY IRVINE'S GAA ARCHITECTS

OWENS & MINOR CORPORATE FACILITY OPENS IN CITY OF INDUSTRY

Gilbert Aja, president of GAA Architects, Irvine, CA, has announced the completion of construction on a 230,500 square-foot build-to-suit warehouse facility located in the City of Industry, CA, built for Fortune 500 medical supplies distributor Owens & Minor. The project was developed by Catellus Development's Orange County office.

The building is constructed of tilt-up concrete, and features 30-foot clear height throughout to allow for 24-foot-high materials racking system. Non-vented skylights were specified by GAA to complement a mechanical ventilation system that aids in minimizing dust accumulation, and the project was designed to allow for the future installation of an E.S.F.R. (early suppression fast response) fire protection system. Also contained within the building are 20,000 square feet of fully improved office space. Fullmer Construction of Ontario, Calif., served as the project's general contractor.

GAA has served as architect on a number of industrial developments for Catellus (known previously as Santa Fe Pacific Realty) over the past 11 years; the firm is currently responsible for several Catellus industrial projects located throughout Southern California. GAA's current client list also includes, among others, major developers Trammell Crow Company and Lewis Homes/Commercial.
